About the Workshop
Accidents in the canopy can happen in an instant. Being prepared with the right knowledge and techniques can be the difference between a successful rescue and a serious incident.
Join the Queensland Arboricultural Association (QAA) for a full-day Aerial Rescue Workshop, designed to upskill professional arborists and climbing crew members in line with the Minimum Industry Standard MIS304 – Aerial Rescue.
Led by renowned trainers Craig Reid (Australian Institute of Arboriculture) and Dan Lee, this hands-on session focuses on realistic rescue scenarios, hazard assessments, and best-practice procedures to safely bring an injured climber to the ground.
What You’ll Learn
- How to apply the S.A.I.D – A.I.R.L.T. method in real-time emergency situations
- Site and tree hazard identification
- Access techniques for aerial rescue
- How to assess a climber’s condition and anchor integrity
- Choosing and executing the most appropriate rescue method

- Handover procedures to emergency services
